As the Journey Through the Third Dimension Nears Its End (Part 1)

★How to handle your heart in sudden emergencies
Just as the history of the old civilization is about to end, in order to shift old habits of thought into the original divine consciousness, the Higher Self may have some people’s physical selves go through a harsh destiny of scrap-and-build (great purification).
That’s because there is karma that can’t be erased and purified without being lived through. But even then, to tell the truth, it has been reduced to a fraction—a tenth or a hundredth—of the destiny that would originally have appeared, and it is shown only after being held down to a very small suffering.
Even so, at such times the human heart can be overwhelmed by the aching of emotional thoughts it can do nothing about, and fall into a state where it can’t think calmly, can’t make clear judgments, and can’t move either way.
In such moments of crisis, more than ever, it’s good to consciously slow down your breathing.
In truth, it’s precisely at such times that the fruits of constant effort appear and the virtue you built up in the past comes to help you. But in a sudden emergency, you can’t afford idle talk about “if only I had.”
When uncontrollable anxiety and fear suddenly strike, or pain and suffering you can do nothing about, or thoughts of such tremendous sorrow that your whole future seems to have gone dark keep welling up without a break, and your rational state of mind seems to have been blown away—what can bring you back to a calm state of consciousness in a short time, without costing time or money and without depending on anyone, is the very resonance of deep, deep breathing.
At that time, it’s even better to voice in your heart, like a chant, the kotodama (the spirit that dwells in words) of the light of life, which transcends all dualistic ideas, riding on the rhythm of your slow breathing.

Because the rhythm of deep breathing is the very pulse of the universe, and words of absolute goodness that go beyond good and bad (words like “Everything is a process for creating a better world. It’s all right! Great fulfillment!”) are the very energy that reflects the resonance of divinity into this world and makes it manifest.
And when you actually do it, decide for yourself what words to use, so that they ring true for you.
If it’s a physical predicament, sometimes a way out can be found by asking others for help. And against a raging storm of emotional thoughts, too, the support of those around you and treatment by a doctor are important help. Beyond that, the key to calming the storm from the depths of your heart also lies within your own consciousness.
Because that power is within everyone.
By building up small experiences of success in guiding themselves, anyone can expand the capacity of their soul.
And by doing so, the deepening of their level of consciousness progresses at the same time.
A state where you’ve lost control of your mind, or where you’re tormented by emotional thoughts, is a state in which you have shut your own consciousness inside the shell of tiny habits of thought, and the capacity of your consciousness has shrunk because of self-limiting habits of thought.
And the most versatile and universal way to escape from there and use your heart freely is to breathe at a slow, relaxed rhythm all the time.
As another powerful way to ride the rhythm of your breath, it’s worth trying to create, deep in your nose, a breathing sound like the sound of waves repeating on a calm seashore, and let it resound.
Breathe while making a wave-like breathing sound—”shhhh… hhhhh… shhhh… hhhhh…”—and focus your consciousness on that sound.
Then the diencephalon is naturally stimulated, and it has the effect of gently embracing and healing even the wider and deeper realms of the subconscious. (To be continued next time)
