★Let’s Take to Heart the True Words That Speed the Purification of Emotions

Now, a little while ago we said something to the effect that “whatever anyone else is doing, that in itself has little meaning. What matters is the movement of your own heart as you see and hear it, and your own words and actions that go with it.”

Those words are true words with a very important meaning from the viewpoint of “the purification of emotions.”

As we always say, the only one who can violate you is you.

Human beings are not such flimsy beings that they fall apart because of whatever others say or do.

And yet everyone ends up thinking they’ve been wronged by others.

This is a very important talk, so listen closely.

For example, let’s say that in an interaction with someone, you get showered with terrible abuse.

At such times, eight or nine out of ten people think, “It’s you who are wrong for saying such things. I’m not wrong,” take a defensive or offensive stance, and point the blade of their emotions at the other person, right?

But if you think about it calmly, that act is really something you’re doing to yourself.

And the other person has no responsibility at all.

Do you get it? This is the point.

If everyone understood that others have no responsibility at all, it’s such a thing that the world of Earth would transform right now, immediately, this instant, at once, into a paradise of great harmony.

You’re probably thinking, “Why do you say the other person has no responsibility at all? Then who’s to blame?”

The answer is: “It’s your responsibility, but that doesn’t mean you’re the one to blame.”

What? Your head is spinning?

You can’t understand it at all?

★To Truly Face Yourself

Yes, it’s all right; you don’t have to understand it right away.

For some people, it takes quite a few years to understand this.

That’s exactly why you should make up your mind, “I’ll work on this even if it takes my whole life,” settle in, and face yourself squarely.

When you face yourself, at first you’ll probably see a self you want to look away from.

But don’t run away there; breathe slowly, slowly, and keep looking.

Then the thoughts of judgment will fade.

And you’ll come to see:

“Oh, I was hurt only because I thought I’d been hurt. If I hadn’t thought I’d been hurt, the fact of being hurt would never have happened.”

We gave the example of being showered with abuse a moment ago, right?

If you don’t take in and perceive the other person’s words and actions as abuse, nothing arises within you to get caught on their words and actions.

This is a true fact, so we’ll say it as many times as it takes: if there’s nothing within you that attracts it, your heart won’t react, whatever the other person says.

When your heart reacts, it means there’s something within you that attracts it.

For example, people who carry some kind of trauma or complex either react violently in spite of themselves when it’s touched, or make their armor even thicker and shut themselves up in their shell to protect themselves, right?

Such situations are clashes that happen because the Guardian Deities and Spirits of both sides have talked it over, to cancel out each other’s karma, in order to make you aware of the self-denial within you. (To be continued)
