How to Live in an Environment You Didn’t Wish For — The Office Worker Edition (Part 1)

★Living on the surface in an environment you didn’t wish for

“It really ought to be done such-and-such a way, but I can’t even raise my voice for reform—I just go along with it. What a coward I am.”

There are people agonizing between the old, unchanging ways of their organization and their ideals, with thoughts along these lines.

People in that position don’t have to blame themselves so harshly.

For example, if someone thinks, “If I blew the whistle on the wrongdoing of upper management, it might come out that it was me, and I could be punished with a demotion or firing. That would cause trouble for me and my family, so I’ll stay quiet,” who could blame them?

Now, to tell the truth, people whose destiny places them in an organization controlled by great villains (or petty ones) belong to one of these two groups:
① They carry within themselves, as something to learn from, qualities that resonate with the people in upper management
② In a past life they experienced the opposite position

If someone’s present life is ①, they are there by the principle of vibrational affinity—birds of a feather flock together. If it’s ②, they are under the law of cause and effect, and you could say they’ve been placed there as an opportunity to cleanse karmic connections from past lives. But this is not meant to blame anyone.

Either way, once you think, “Something is wrong with how things are done here,” the options for the future you should choose broadly divide into two.

One is to endure and stay there for the sake of what you need to protect; the other is to aim for reform, carefully gathering allies (strength), and reverse the balance of the organization’s dynamics through the power of numbers.

Much of the phenomenal world on Earth is still a world where the power of the ego outweighs truth, so without power you can’t accomplish anything.

That’s why people who think rightly get pushed into the corners, and people who live by pushing their ego to the front tend to lead more advantageous lives, don’t they?

But on the other hand, the times are changing: wrongdoing that could be pushed through until now no longer works and is gradually being exposed.

Even so, the ways of straying from truth that make it into the news are still only the tip of the iceberg.

What we’ve just described is only the surface. But when the people gathered in a place are all at a level of consciousness where they can only sense the surface world, however much someone encourages them to live according to their conscience, few will join in that direction.

Why is that? Because the animal instinct of self-preservation gets in the way, so even if they recognize what you say as true, they can’t summon the courage to honestly shift their way of living in that direction.

So, apart from those with extraordinarily strong convictions, people can’t bring about organizational reform, and they settle into a life of quietly going along with those in power.

But who could blame people who stay in that way of life?

Such people have their own realizations to learn, and they are living in the living environment that is absolutely necessary for mastering them.

It is a path on which, through agonizing between ideals and reality, a heart that longs for truth from its very depths is stirred up as they walk.

And you could also say that the countless different situations individuals find themselves in are circumstances in which each person’s Higher Self, knowing everything, has placed them so that they can polish and raise themselves. (To be continued next time)
