Shedding Your Skin into a Consciousness Where “We,” “Our,” and “Us” Come Naturally – 6

The True Nature of the Suffering Earth’s Humanity Couldn’t Handle
Above all, the first thing to do before anything else is to turn the feelings you have about others back toward yourself and look at them as something about yourself.
This is so extremely important that there’s nothing more important than it.
Right now, more than 99% of the people living on Earth are carrying some kind of suffering from birth, aging, illness, or death, aren’t they?
That’s simply a fact, nothing more and nothing less. And there’s certainly no need to mix it up with emotional thoughts and think of it as good or bad.
If you untangle the suffering Earth’s humanity couldn’t handle, its true nature broadly falls into three main causes: “illness,” “money,” and “relationships.”
And among them, the biggest worry for most of humanity is relationships.
If every worry about relationships disappeared from the earth, the number of people who take their own lives would drop dramatically.
That’s how much the people on earth store up anguished feelings in their relationships with others, living with them smoldering inside.
A very long time has passed since the dawn of history. Why do you think humans still can’t solve that problem?
It’s because they’ve become convinced that this physical body is who they are, and that the other people they see with their physical eyes are completely separate individuals.
If it’s like that even between individuals, when it comes to organizations and nations it gets even more tangled.
Russia invading Ukraine is a good example, isn’t it?
Even though there are so many people in the world with authority and power, experts and politicians, no one could settle that situation.
That’s because each and every one of them sees self and others as separate and keeps repeating judgments that divide self from others with the sword and shield of good and evil, right and wrong.

The Feelings You Have about Others Are Your Own Reflection in a Mirror
In reality, other people are a mirror of yourself. To say it more clearly, the feelings you have about others are you looking at your own reflection in a mirror.
Even people who don’t usually look in the mirror much will look at themselves in one before heading out in the morning or when taking a bath, right?
What you see reflected in the mirror then is, of course, your own figure.
In just the same way, the feelings you have about others are the figure of your own heart.
Whatever you feel about someone else has its cause within you. You can’t think anything for which there’s no seed inside you.
Look at that fact without hiding anything.
Thinking something about another person means the cause is within you, so even if you can’t notice it, it’s actually something you know from your own experience.
It’s the various feelings you have about others that show it to you anew and help you notice it.
If you practice inner reflection in the true sense, you’ll be amazed to find how many and how varied the unresolved thoughts are that were hiding deep within you.
What you need so that you can do that is the relaxed breathing I’m always talking about. (To be continued)
