Shedding Your Skin into a Consciousness Where “We,” “Our,” and “Us” Come Naturally – 4

What Is a World Where Your Inner Universe Is Unfolding?

The idea that this world is “a world where your inner universe is unfolding” may be hard to nod along to for the lump of thoughts that sees the world based on memories picked up by the physical senses.

That’s because, for such people, the world is what they can see with their eyes, hear with their ears, smell with their noses, taste with their mouths, and touch with their hands.

They can’t even dream that something they can’t see, hear, or touch could be real.

But you know, there’s a fact here that no one can deny.

It’s that what defines and passes judgment on what you’ve seen and heard, on the smells you’ve smelled and the things you’ve tasted, on what you’ve touched with your hands and skin, saying “this is like this” and “that is like that,” is none other than your own thoughts.

Even if you’ve read or heard someone’s book or talk and come to agree with the speaker’s ideas, it was you who made the decision to take them in as your own ideas, wasn’t it?

Let’s look at a more serious, desperate situation.

There are people suffering from brainwashing by nations or some kind of organization, but this is never meant to blame those people. What it means is that no matter what situation you’re in, the power to choose again which way your heart faces is right there within you.

Let me say this so there’s no misunderstanding: I’m not saying that makes it good or bad.

It’s simply that they’re walking the path they need in order to evolve their souls. It isn’t something to be cut down dualistically with the sword of good and evil, right and wrong.

A Real Example of Thoughts Creating the World

Yet nearly everyone on Earth looks only at the surface of themselves and others and decides: good or bad, like or dislike, above or below, right or left.

I’ve talked about this before, but say, for example, there’s a person here named A.

And let’s say B, C, and D are gossiping about A.

B likes A and says, “That’s a good person.”

C isn’t comfortable with A and trails off with “That person’s a bit…,” openly showing dislike.

D has no particular feelings about A at all and says, “Oh, that person,” not siding with either B or C.

Looking only at that scene, do you think you could see A’s character and whole picture correctly?

Just one thing is clear: the A that B sees, the A that C sees, and the A that D sees are each the truth for that person.

More precisely, B, C, and D are each simply projecting onto A an image of a particular person seen through the filter of themselves.

Now here’s a question.

Why do you suppose several people look at the same person and each come away with a different impression?

Close your eyes and ask your life.

The answer that echoes up from many layers deep in the realm of thought is the very key to shedding the lump of “I,” “My,” and “Me” thoughts and emerging into the integrated consciousness of “We,” “Our,” and “Us.” (To be continued)
