Let’s Look at Resignation

Published on Updated on

Look into your heart.

You can see all kinds of selves, right?

Among them, today let’s shine a spotlight on thoughts of the “resignation” kind.

Resignation toward yourself.

Resignation toward others.

Resignation toward society.

Resignation toward your circumstances.

Resignation toward your appearance.

There are all kinds of resignation, aren’t there?

Look closely at each one of them.

“It can’t be helped because of this.”

“It can’t be helped because of that.”

You can see all kinds of excuses circling round and round that resignation.

Without giving those excuses a glance, look at the lump of resignation sitting there,

and at the resonance even deeper behind it.

For example, let’s look at the lump of resignation toward others.

Why do you feel resigned about that person?

Yes, yes.

I know, I understand.

You’d like to keep it as that person’s fault.

Because that way, you can protect your ego.

But right there, put strength into your lower belly and look even deeper.

Hm? Can you see it?

There’s a thought trying to protect yourself.

But that’s not it.

Move the eye of your heart even deeper.

See, now you can see it, can’t you?

A lump of thoughts that has given up on yourself….

What can be said at this point is that people who have given up on others have given up on themselves.

But you can also see that there’s a corresponding cause for giving up on yourself, right?

So let’s look even deeper into the heart.

Close your eyes.

Breathe slowly.

Imagine that your whole torso is lungs, and keep breathing big, deep, and relaxed.

See, now you can see it, can’t you?

A lump of self-limiting thoughts….

It’s the habit of thought that decides, “This is all I amount to.”

But there’s more further in.

Quietly settle your heart deep in your soul.

Look deep into your heart the way you’d look over the details of the ground while approaching Earth from space.

There it is.

Self-denial.

What is it? It’s the habit of thought that denies divinity, the essence of life.

This denial of your essential identity, the denial of divinity, is the true identity of the habit of thought that makes you give up.

When you find it, think of yourself as the sun that makes the traveler take off his cloak, and embrace the thought that wants to deny.

It’s like permafrost that has been in your heart for a long time, so if you embrace it with the warmth of life and warm it, it will surely melt and change its nature, from solid to liquid, from liquid to gas.

What matters is to know that the essence of your life has been the light of love itself since the very beginning, long, long ago.

And to live giving off the light of love.

A human being’s mission in the earthly realm lies in growing a self that can express that essence of life smoothly.

Don’t give up on anything.

If you don’t give up, a way will surely open.

But when you feel like giving up, just look deep into your heart like today, find the real cause, and embrace it.

Embrace it again and again, as many times as it takes.

No words are needed.

You don’t have to think anything.

Just wrap the lump of thoughts as the light of love and warm it.

Then the so-called habits of thought will fade before you know it, and the truth, goodness, and beauty inherent in life will appear as your very consciousness.
