Bird’s-Eye Consciousness and First Intuition (Part 1)

★On the suffering of human relationships

★The first cause of suffering

Looking broadly across your world, among the many kinds of suffering, worries about human relationships carry the most weight.

Why is that? Because people assume, without ever questioning it, that a self-centered recognition that has forgotten the truth of life is their own consciousness, and send out thoughts out of sheer inertia.

When you recognize the various realities through your eyes and ears, if you are truly grasping the facts as facts, your emotional thoughts don’t sway and shake.

Especially in situations where you think something about another person’s words and deeds.

In your daily relationships with people of all kinds, try watching the movements of your own heart in each moment, carefully and honestly.

★What you learn by watching your heart

When you aren’t conscious of expressing the original nature of life (when you aren’t using consciousness consciously), you’ll see that the wavelength of your consciousness is actually similar to that of the person you criticized or found fault with.

When you look at someone and think, “This person is such-and-such,” it’s precisely the heart that thought so that you need to look at very, very carefully.

When you look down on the state of your heart from above like that, you can see the fact that what you thought about the other person was something within yourself that you were seeing reflected in them.

When you are in that state of mind, you could say that the other person and you are at much the same level of consciousness.

What we’d really like you to know is that people only turn their thoughts to lives and things that match their wavelength.

Things that don’t match your wavelength don’t register even when you see them, pass through your ears even when you hear them, and never make it onto the cutting board of memory.

★Cases where others reflect you exactly as you are

Tendencies of thought that haven’t fully returned to divinity tend to see things that are actually within you as having nothing to do with you.

When people see in others thoughts, words, and deeds whose wavelength resonates with their own, most of them don’t think of it as being about themselves, but see it as being about the other person.

Especially when it comes to things they see critically.

★Cases where something bothers you because your heart is tinged with aversion

What’s interesting is that when you sense in others a wonderful quality that is within you, even when you understand that it’s within you, you find it hard to acknowledge it as your own, and instead tend to separate yourself from the other person and look down on yourself.

Thought tendencies attached to the physical body tend to readily accept what is not true, and to treat what is truth itself as if it had nothing to do with them.

★The need for a consciousness that looks down on everything from above

Only when you understand all of this can you understand the need for the power of recognition that looks down objectively on the facts alone, from above.

Unless you remember again and use the bird’s-eye recognition that comes as standard equipment with this life, the human heart can never break out of the prison of dualistic opposition, and can’t escape the turmoil of like and dislike, right and wrong.

So what is the state of looking down objectively on the facts alone? You see what appear to be the faults (unpleasant sides) of the person your thoughts get caught on, but at the same time you also see yourself doing the very same thing, and yourself one-sidedly detesting what they do in a dualistic way. So you can’t think of only the other person as bad. And at the same time you can also see the divinity deep within them, so you see it as “only a temporary process until their essence appears,” and your consciousness doesn’t get stuck on a close-up of only the words and deeds that disgust you.

That’s why your emotional thoughts can stay undisturbed.

When black clouds of emotional thought are billowing up in your field of consciousness, your consciousness is standing on the same dimension as the other person you’re viewing critically, so you could say you can’t recognize yourself and others from a standpoint that looks down on everything from above.
