A Very Important Mindset

I told you that the recognition of “here and now,” “the true now,” appears when you join the right hand and left hand of your heart, didn’t I?

That isn’t simply saying that it’s important to hold your heart as if you were putting your palms together in prayer.

You see, it’s a very plain but very important mindset.

Let’s see… try remembering yourself as a small child, as far back as your memory goes.

When you tried to hold something that was too big for your hands, didn’t you use both hands to hold it?

And at that time, while you were holding it with both hands, didn’t you see the adults around you holding things with one hand and try to copy them?

Being able to hold “things” without using both hands is certainly convenient, but by getting used to it, many people left “an important way of holding the heart” behind in early childhood.

Namely, that “the heart is something you use the way you hold things with both hands.”

From a different point of view, you could say it means “scooping up things with both hands of your heart and looking at them.”

It may sound abstract, but scooping up things with both hands of your heart and looking at them means grasping things carefully and as a whole.

You might think, “Wouldn’t grasping things as a whole make you sloppy?” but that’s proof that you’ve gotten into the habit of looking at things with only half your attention.

A Feat Made Possible by the Sight That Life Originally Has

Using your consciousness to grasp things carefully and as a whole actually means putting the plus side and the minus side, in other words yin and yang, light and shadow, front and back, outside and inside, all onto the chopping board of your consciousness without leaving anything out, and looking down on them.

The reason so many of Earth’s people have closed off the bird’s-eye field of awareness and fallen into “a narrow-hearted way of seeing things” can be said to lie in having settled for “looking with half their attention” and no longer using “the feat made possible by the sight that life originally has,” namely “seeing the whole.”

When we speak in words like “let’s revive a bird’s-eye field of awareness,” it’s also so that you’ll remember that original visual ability of Cosmic Humanity.

When scooping up things with both hands of your heart and looking at them becomes a habit, a person’s self-centered mindset gradually fades.

Then, calmly and objectively, and with a frame of mind that has “a discerning eye that perceives the truth,” equipped with both reason and intelligence, you become able to look down on every state of things within the universe of your heart.

If everyone became like that, Earth would become peaceful in no time, but it’ll be a little while longer before the people still in “the seesaw game of winning and losing” wake up.

For that reason, you could say that the fate of the Earth realm depends on what you do, you who woke up a little earlier.

But that doesn’t mean you need to tense up and square your shoulders.

With your life in your physical body, just by being there, you’re doing great, great, very great work.

That comes from the mysterious power of breathing, the power of the breath of life, but let’s save that story for another time.
