To Guide Your Own Consciousness (Part 1)

★Steadily carry out practices for the evolution of consciousness that suit where you are

Just as a health method your body doesn’t enjoy won’t bear fruit, a practice of evolving consciousness that your heart doesn’t enjoy doesn’t really lead to results either, and you tend to go round in circles in the same state of consciousness.

What’s happening then? It’s like forcing tasteless diet food down your throat, determined to lose weight no matter what. You’re either forcing yourself to evolve your consciousness when you don’t really want to, or you’re stretching beyond yourself and imposing on yourself practices for evolving consciousness that don’t fit your size.

Why does that happen? Because you’re rushing, rushing along the road ahead without having made your own the things that are fundamentally important for evolving your consciousness.

It’s similar to actors going up on stage and performing without having prepared beforehand.

A good stage performance is one that can move people or make them laugh because it’s built up through repeated rehearsals and many agreements: who says which line when, who moves where and how when, what to do with the set, how to do the lighting.

And ultimately, everyone involved can perform in perfect unison, becoming people who, just by looking into each other’s eyes, can tell what the other is about to do and what they want from them.

A stage where people like that are acting is really worth watching.

If actors went up on stage without that kind of preparation, what kind of show would it be… It’s as clear as day that it would be a mess, right?

When you’re doing the same thing in your practice of evolving consciousness, your feelings tilt toward “what a hassle,” or you try to imitate what powerful people do without having gained the strength yourself, and you end up giving up because you’re not up to it. (To be continued)
